Becky Langley has been awarded the National League Division One North Manager of the Month award after taking Newcastle United on a three-game winning streak.
Newcastle made it a clean sweep in March winning three out of three as they put themselves into pole position to lift the league title in April.
The Lassess certainly had to overcome some difficult opponents along the way picking up victories against league-leaders Durham Cestria, Norton & Stockton Ancients as well as Leeds United.
Langley wins Manager of the Month
It was the victory against Cestria which will be seen as the turning point in their seasons if they do indeed go on to earn promotion.
Langley managed to organise her players with triple training sessions during the week and they certainly paid off by netting a first-half goal before restraining Cetsria to a single second-half strike.
Having taken Newcastle to within three points of winning the league last term, Langley appears to have kept her best tactics and displays of in-game management for the business end of this campaign.
Newcastle under pressure to succeed
The pressure has certainly been on Langley this season with the team joining the Newcastle United Men’s team officially so she’s had to deal with a target on her back all season with the Lasses everyone’s cup final.
However, she’s navigated this last month perfectly in different types of games against teams they were expected to beat and done so comfortably, while also showing tactical nouse to keep out the then league top scorers at Kingston Park.
Newcastle are also set to play at St James’ Park on April 16th against Bradford City as they go in search of three points and another record-breaking attendance.
