Chelsea Duo Given End of Season Awards

Chelsea duo Emma Hayes and Beth England have won both top honours in this season’s end of year awards.

Scoring 14 goals in 15 games, England captures the Player of the Season title. Her most memorable effort coming in the last game of the season, thumping the ball home from distance against Man City.

Hayes won Manager of the Season after her Blues side finished the year undefeated. They won the title after a points-per-game system was used by the FA.

Chelsea’s attacking brand of football lead to their success, the London outfit scored an average of over three goals a game in the league. The Blues also only conceded 11 goals on their way to securing the title.

Chelsea aren’t the only ones being honoured though. Arsenal forward Vivianne Miedema’s golden boot-winning season is celebrated and Ellie Roebuck received the golden glove.

There has been a virtual awards show celebrating their accomplishments. Ian Wright and Kelly Smith are on hosting duties and you can watch the full video below.

The FA still want to start the next Women’s Super League season in September.
