Everton mark their first home game of the season with a 1-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur.
As the sun beat down on Walton Hall Park, nothing could separate the two sides in the first half. Both teams’ defence was sharp and compact, not allowing any chances to sneak through.
England international and midfield talisman Izzy Christiansen started for the Blues. The former Lyon ace helped pressure Tottenham’s backline who, fuelled on by an animated Juan Carlos Amoros, kept strong.
Lucia Leon was a stand-out performer for Spurs. Her pace down the right flank not only kept her defence tight but allowed her to create chances going forwards as well.

However, a second half spark from Everton was enough to grab all three points. Christiansen was the player of the hour who popped up with a strong header to break the deadlock.
