At full-time of Manchester City’s end-of-season home victory over Everton, it was announced on the pitch that Hayley Raso will depart the club this summer.

The forward joined City back in 2021 from Everton where she had spent the past season-and-a-half. Joining Gareth Taylor’s side on a two-year deal, Raso went go on to make eight league starts in sky blue during her first season at the club.

The Australian international made 47 appearances overall for City, finding the back of the net nine times. However, despite impressive stats, the Raso has recently struggled for playing time, with Gareth Taylor preferring Chloe Kelly.

As a result, the winger has played just over 300 minutes in the league this season, less than half of last term’s playing time.

Raise has been heavily linked to Spanish giants Real Madrid. Former teammate Caroline Weir joined the side at the end of the 2021/22 campaign, knocking her former side out of the Champions league during the group stage of the competition.
