HB Køge are champions of Denmark after defeating their direct rivals Fortuna Hjørring in a 1-0 win for Køge. This means that they have been crowned champions of the Elitedivisionen in Denmark. It has been a truly great season for the champions and it looks they will continue to grow.

HB Køge: beating their rivals

The season is divided into two parts: the regular league and the playoffs. There are eight teams and after the regular season, the top six teams compete in a championship playoff. The seventh-placed team will play a relegation play-off while the eight-placed team is automatically relegated.

During these HB Køge was excellent and they went into the playoffs as clear favorites. They had won 12 games and 2 games were a draw. Their direct rivals were Fortuna Hjørring and on the last day of the playoff round they met. A 52nd-minute goal from Cecilie Fløe sealed the deal for the home side and they were champions of Denmark once more.

Køge: unique season

It has been a fantastic season for HB Køge. Not only did they defend their title successfully, but they also played in the UWCL this season. HB Køge managed to keep Fortuna Hjørring in second while also setting a record audience in their stadium of 2,016 people. Positivity in Køge.

HB Køge was very dominant this season domestically as they haven’t lost a single game in both the regular season and in the championship group of the playoffs. It will be interesting to see how they will do in the next season, especially in the UWCL.
