Lina Hurtig has joined Arsenal in the WSL. That has been communicated by her new club and she has signed a contract at Arsenal. The Swedish international previously played at Juventus in the Italian Serie A. Arsenal is reported to pay a fee for the attacker.
Lina Hurtig is a versatile attacker who can play the role of the striker. Here she will be a threat in and around the box, scoring goals and setting others up. She can also play the role of the wide attacker. She will be useful in third-man runs and create space for other attacking players.
Arsenal have a relatively thin squad Arsenal at the moment. And, with a busy schedule both domestically as in the UWCL, this is a welcome signing for the Gunners.Embed from Getty Images
Hurtig said the following on the Arsenal website: “It feels so great – I’m very happy to be here. I’ve always, always wanted to play in England, and I’ve always been interested in English football, so it’s super exciting for me to be here. I know Arsenal are a great club, with great players and lots of quality, so I think I will enjoy it here.”
Head Coach Jonas Eidevall added: “Lina is an excellent forward who will bring power and dynamism to our game. She has shone in the Champions League and international tournaments and we are delighted that she will be lining up for Arsenal moving forward.”
Head of Women’s Football Clare Wheatley said: “Lina was a key target for us this summer so we are pleased to have completed this signing. She is exactly the right profile of player for Arsenal and will add quality and experience to our squad.”
