As Manchester City continue with their squad transformation, the club has announced the signing of Venezuelan international Deyna Castellanos.
The 23-year-old makes the move to Manchester from panish giants Atlético Madrid on a three-year deal.
Castellanos will wear the No.10 shirt for her new side.
The forward spent the last two-and-a-half seasons in Madrid, scoring 23 goals in 58 appearances for former club Atlético.
The arrival of Castellanos will no doubt help to bolster a Manchester City side that struggled with depth last season. The signing of the Venezuelan will certainly be welcome news for City fans following the departure of long-serving winger Georgia Stanway.
The versatile currently holds the record for most goals scored in a City shirt. Stanway departed the club last month for a move to Bayern Munich.
Gareth Taylor now has a choice of seven recognised forwards as his team look to pursue silverware in four competitions over the coming season.
Speaking to Manchester City, Castellanos said: “Looking around at all the facilities here, it is just amazing.
“I believe that this Club will help to improve me as a player, and I hope that I can help Manchester City too.”
With the Sky Blues rumoured to be looking to complete several more signing this summer, could Manchester City be the team to watch next season?
