In front of a packed Walton Hall Park, Everton looked to build on their 1-0 victory over Merseyside rivals Liverpool as they faced a sickness-hit Manchester United.

An evenly-matched first half was followed by a flurry of second-half goals as Manchester United showed complete ruthlessness in the opposition box as they managed to score a total of five goals.

First Half

The first half kicked into gear in the 13th minute when Everton forward Nicoline Sørensen broke through on goal but curled her effort wide. Just a minute later it was 1-0 Manchester United. Melvine Malard continued her fine recent form when she headed home from a corner.

Mary Earps made a couple of good saves from Hanna Bennison and Nicoline Sørensen while Courtney Brosnan pulled off a sensational stop after 40 minutes to keep the scoreline at 1-0 going into the break.

Second Half: Manchester United dominant

The second half saw Everton push for an equaliser before former toffee Nikita Parris headed home from close range after a pinpoint Katie Zelem cross on the hour mark.

Despite a few nervy moments from corners, United would really kill the game once they introduced Rachel Williams with 15 minutes remaining. A quick fire brace from the 35 year old made it 4-0 before Nikita Parris raced through on goal and finished past Brosnan in the dying seconds to complete her brace and cement a 5-0 victory for the Red Devils.
