
Portland Thorns manager Mark Parsons has signed a lucrative multi-year contract extension with the club. The announcement will be welcome news to Portland fans as the club prepares for the new NWSL season.
To date, Parsons has masterminded plenty of success at the club. The most notable of his successes being the NWSL Championship in 2017 and similarly, the NWSL Shield in 2016.
This all coming alongside four consecutive years reaching the playoffs.
Going on record, Thorns general manager Gavin Wilkinson stated “[It] shows a commitment to both his qualities as head coach and the process.”
Embed from Getty ImagesParsons was named NWSL Coach of the Year in 2016 and as a result, Thorns fans will be hoping he can reproduce some of that form again.
“I am humbled for the opportunity to commit long term to this incredible club,” Parsons continued.
“It’s an honour to work alongside such talented staff and an ambitious group of players who relentlessly chase improvement each day.”

The two-time world champion joins Thorns with a pedigree of 164 international caps for USA.
