Celtic have announced the return of Natasha Flint. The striker rejoins Elena Sadiku’s squad on a loan deal from Liverpool until the end of the season.

Flint signed for Liverpool from Leicester City in the summer of 2023 after three years with the rapidly progressing Foxes. Her latest move to Celtic comes after the 27-year-old scored three goals in 10 appearances during her short stint with the Reds.

The forward started five games and played a total of 475 minutes under manager Matt Beard. Her last goal for Liverpool came in a 4-3 home defeat to Manchester City in the Conti Cup. Flint scored in the 47th minute to put her side in front.

Having spent the second half of the 2022/23 season on loan at Celtic from Leicester, Flint could now provide the Hoops with an important boost. The goalscorer became a key player during her previous spell with the Ghirls.

She scored in both the semi-final and final to help secure Celtic’s monumental Scottish Women’s FA Cup victory. The forward netted eight league goals during her previous successful run with the club, and will be looking to make her mark on Scottish football once again. Flint could feature for Celtic this Sunday, when they will face rivals Glasgow City.

The experienced player may have had some trouble accumulating playing time in WSL matches, but she is no stranger to tough competition and record breaking crowds. After announcing her signing, the English striker took to Twitter to share the news of her departure with fans.

Celtic are strong contenders for the SWPL title, sitting second in the table and unbeaten in their last five games. The Glasgow club became the first in the country to field a full-time professional women’s team back in 2020.
