
Real Sociedad won the first Copa de la Reina in their history after beating Atletico Madrid 2-1 in the final.
Goals from Kiana Palacios and Leire Baños Nahikari saw Sociedad come back from an early deficit in Granada.
The defeat is Atletico’s third consecutive Copa de la Reina final loss.

But the underdogs could only absorb the attack for so long before Atletico Madrid eventually went ahead.
The Liga de Fútbol Femenino champions opened the scoring early after a sweetly-struck volley from Esther Gonzalez in the 15th minute.
It seemed to be all Atletico until a calamitous error by goalkeeper Lola Gallardo gifted Sociedad an equaliser three minutes later.
Palacios’ tame effort from 30 yards crept underneath Gallardo and rolled over the line.
Atletico continued to look dangerous after the first half but were somehow denied a second.
Sociedad then gave themselves the lead just after the hour mark. A delightful ball from Palacios was eventually fired into the top corner by Leire Baños Nahikari.
Last year’s league champions threw caution to the wind as they tried to find another goal.
The Rojiblancos came desperately close when Ludmila’s looping header rebounded off the post. An Angela Sosa attempt hit the woodwork three minutes later but Gonzalo Arconada’s side held on late to win.
