West Ham United have announced a raft of departures from the club. The Hammers, who finished ninth in the Women’s Super League, have released their retained players list.

Goalkeeper Courtney Brosnan was the first name on the departure list. The Irish international made eight appearances for the Irons this season. Kenza Dali is another and she has been heavily linked with a move to Arsenal. The midfielder scored three goals in 20 appearances across all competitions in 2020/21.

In a statement released on her twitter the 29-year-old reflected on her time with the Hammers and said the team would always be her first English family.

Defender Anouk Denton will also be leaving the team and joining the University of Louisville, a move that was announced today. Denton joined the team in their 5-0 victory over Reading in April. Emily Van Egmond turned down a new contract offer from the London based club, however it has not been announced what the Australian has planned for the future.

Forward Leanne Kiernan will also be in search of a new club. The Irish international has recently returned from injury but will be released following the end of her contract in June. Cecilie Redisch has also chosen to leave after turning down a new contract offer. The defender signed for the Hammers in 2019.

Martha Thomas and Laura Vetterlein make up the final two West Ham departures. On her Twitter, Thomas said that she was looking forward to a new challenge and expressed her gratitude to the club. Vetterlein will also be moving on – the German defender made the move from SC Sand in 2019.
