Plenty of early chances for Man City saw the hosts pushing their opponents from the opening whistle.

Sheffield’s defence held firm until the 16th minute, when Women’s Super League top scorer Shaw converted an assist from Kelly to give the hosts an early lead.

In the 38th minute, Kelly found her way onto the score sheet as she turned the ball home from 10-yards out.

The third and final goal of the first half came from Castellanos. The Venezuelan’s scrappy goal mouth effort came just at the end of regulation time.

The second half brought a Man City side even hungrier for goals. Just six minutes after the break and Shaw found the back of the net for her second of the afternoon.

The fifth goal came just two minutes later as Blakstad slammed home her sixth of the season across all competitions. The Norweigan bagged her second of the afternoon with club captain Steph Houghton claiming the assist in the 78th minute.

City’s afternoon was topped off by Shaw claiming her first hat-trick of the season in the 87th minute.

The draw for the FA Cup fifth round will take place on Monday, January 30th from 18.30 GMT.
