Man United to play Champions League football

Despite Manchester United dominating almost the entire first half, the Reds were unable to breakdown a determined Liverpool defensive unit. With almost four times the number of accurate passes, United were undeniably on top throughout the opening 45.

The second half brought much of the same from both sides. Although Skinner’s side continued to dominate in possession, the league runners-up were unable to break the deadlock.

Finally, the first goal went on the tally in the 72nd minute from Lucía García, which put the Reds within two points of champions Chelsea. The Spanish international’s seventh league goal of the season came just three minutes after coming onto the pitch.

After a huge performance this season, United will play in the Champions League next season for the first time.
