SheBelieves Cup: Mead left out of England squad, Roebuck called up

Phil Neville has announced a 23-player squad for the upcoming SheBelieves Cup campaign.

England will face-off against the USA, Spain and Japan across three fixtures over the next month.

Ellie Roebuck will join the Lionesses as part of the goalkeepers’ union. There was some uncertainty surrounding the Manchester City star’s call up after she was spotted in a cast last Sunday.

New Everton signing Sandy MacIver also makes the squad, along with teammate Chloe Kelly. The 22-year-old could make her first international start during the competition.

West Ham’s Grace Fisk receives her first senior England call up after impressing in her first few games at the London club.

The big names also remain in the squad through the call up of Toni Duggan, Ellen White and Lucy Bronze.

Beth England’s fine form has been rewarded with her place in the team. She has been on fire in the Women’s Super League this season and has contributed significantly to Chelsea remaining undefeated thus far.

Arsenal’s Beth Mead has been left out of the squad as a result of an injury suffered against Liverpool in the WSL.
