The Professional Footballers Association (PFA) announced the launch of a dedicated Women’s Football Department this week.

According to the PFA statement, the women’s department will include a Professional Football Negotiating Consultative Committee (PFNCC).

“The Women’s Football Department will build on the work we already do to support women’s football,” it reads.

“With exciting initiatives already planned to ensure female players’ best interests are voiced.”

The department will help to build a future in which no changes can be made to the women’s game without player consultation. As a result, more players will feel safe in their position.

Furthermore, this is a positive and forward-thinking move by the PFA. It not only creates a secure and stable future for today’s footballers but future generations as well.

Director of women’s football, Marie-Christine Bouchier said, “We want to keep helping to push the game forward and this department enhances the support system we already have in place for female players.”
